Circular Economy in the Energy Sector

Since 2016, Atelier 21 has been developing, with the support of the Schneider Electric Foundation, an ambitious programme to raise awareness and provide training on the challenges of the energy transition. This long-term partnership has transformed pedagogical experiments into genuine learning pathways accessible to a wide audience, in France and internationally.

As part of the 2024–2025 agreement, this work has taken on a new dimension with the structuring of Académie 21, our training platform, and the development of open digital content. These online courses (MOOCs) were designed in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and with the support of Schneider Electric‘s technical expertise, combining technical knowledge, low-tech approaches and social energy issues.

The goal is clear: to make knowledge about energy understandable, actionable and accessible to as many people as possible, particularly young people, students, professionals in transition, and those far from technical fields. Through these courses, we seek to foster the emergence of a generation able to understand, question and transform energy systems.

These MOOCs are built on Atelier 21’s own pedagogical approach:

  • connecting theory and practice,
  • combining technological innovation and sobriety,
  • and encouraging citizen ownership of energy issues.

Distributed internationally via ITC platforms and relayed through Schneider Electric networks, this content has already trained several thousand participants on key topics such as energy transition, circular economy and gender equality in energy careers.

This page brings together all the courses from this collaboration: resources to understand today’s energy world… and help invent tomorrow’s.
